Tips to make your presentation great:
- Text font: Sans-serif fonts (like Arial, Tahoma and Verdana) are easier to read at a distance than serif fonts (like Times New Roman).
- Text size: Your text should be at least 30 point font
- Bullet Points: Avoid large chunks of text or paragraphs. 5 bullet points per slide makes it easy for the audience to read and digest. Because we read faster than we speak, it is good practice to elaborate on the bullet points shown to fully engage the audience instead of having a lot of text on the screen.
- White Slide background: Keep your slide background white to contrast well with the black text on slides.
- Graphs, graphics and photos: Use visually arresting images, data and large words to serve as a mnemonic device so the audience has higher visual recall. You must properly license all images for BizTechDay’s use in worldwide video and web distribution. Don’t use images with a watermark on them. Use high-resolution pictures and graphics. Full-quality photos from a digital camera will look better than images pulled off the web.
- Web images: Images taken from the web should be clearly licensed under Creative Commons for use.
